This course provides an understanding of the Anatomy and Physiology of the body. This is essential for those working in complementary therapy as when treating clients, knowledge of the structure and function of the various systems of the body ensures that the correct treatment is administered and contraindications are recognised.
What you will learn
This course explores the structure and function of the different body systems as below
Digestive System - The organs, which transform what, we eat into substances that can be used by the body for energy, growth and repair.
Breathing System - How the bodys breathing equipment works.
Vascular System - How the heart pumps blood around the body.
Lymphatic System - A subsidiary circulation system that provides a channel for excess fluid to be returned to the bloodstream.
Excretory System - How the body gets rid of potentially harmful substances like urea.
Reproductive System - The male and female reproductive systems.
Muscular System - The different types of muscles.
Skeletal System - The bones and joints of the body.
Endocrine System - The glands which produce hormones.
Nervous System - The communication network of the body.
